Auto-Diag-18: Write Data By Identifier — All Auto Tech

WRITE DATA BY IDENTIFIER

This service is used by the client/tester when information needs to be written in the ECU/server’s specific internal memory location.

The service ID is 0x2E.

Important points about the service

• The client uses the identifier provided by the server to write data records in the server’s memory location
• The server may prohibit client write access to certain identifiers as per the manufacturer’s design

Message flow examples

Let’s consider a scenario where the client is writing a value of “0x00 0x01 0x10 0x11” in a specific location in server through the identifier 0x1234
