There is only one service under the Input Output functional unit i.e. Input Output Control by Identifier service. Let’s get to know more.

Input Output Control By Identifier Service

The input output control by Identifier service is used by the client to simulate a value for an input signal to the server, input server function arguments, and control the output signal from the server.

Important points about the service

• The client request message will contain the control option record with all the information required by the server
• The server will send a positive response after the request message has been successfully executed
• The server will respond with a return control to ECU even if the identifier is not under tester control (server 0x3E)
• The service to update an input signal parameter can be either a binary signal or a more complex signal sequences
• The request message contains the data identifier, control option record, Control Enable Mask Record fields.
